Ephesians.

In Paul’s letter from prison to the church at Ephesus, we are given a wide-ranging panorama of the Christian gospel and its implications. This letter looks back all the way to the creation of the world, and to God’s plan from the beginning. It foregrounds at every point the work of Jesus the Messiah, and the closely linked work of the Holy Spirit.

It maps out the question of what the church is, its significance as a centrepiece of God’s plan to evil His wisdom in the world. The letter to the Ephesians also looks at the core existential questions of, what it means to be genuinely human, becoming the new sort of humanity that God has created, and is creating, in and through Jesus.
